Alchemist's Log - Date: Feb 23/2023

Updated: Mar 3

Hello there!

This is the first weekly blog entry chronicling the production of Adam & The Alchemist.

January was a really rough month production wise; I ended up making dramatic changes to the script after having already written it, which meant having to re-record the lines I'd done. However, I still wasn't happy, so I went and re-recorded the lines a SECOND time before finally getting onto editing the episode.

These changes to the script bled over into other episodes, which means I have to spend more time adjusting the way things are going to play out in the future, so there's plenty of work to be done yet.

However, as of yesterday, episode three is finally finished and I will be publishing it later today. If you're reading this, it's probably already out!

My goals for this coming week are to finish drafting out the next episode and the script for the next episode, so I can get to recording it and (hopefully) not have as gigantic of a gap between episodes this time.

The production schedule I've got worked out looks something like this:

- One week for drafting the episode.

- One week for scripting.

- Two weeks for recording & editing.

What this doesn't take into account are the little things that pop up during the writing process, like realizing that a plot point that I had planned on including really doesn't add anything to the story, which leads to changes being needed to other episodes.

To put it simply, this process is a very complicated one that requires a tremendous amount of work to stay punctual. But it's fun, so I don't mind!

See you next week, and until then, don't get sucked into any magic books ;)
